In my project “Sparkling Seas” I investigate how bioluminescent plankton are distributed in space and time and how environmental stressors shape their bioluminescence, population dynamics, interactions and toxin production, to better understand their roles in coastal ecosystem functioning under global change. Mandy Veldhuis and Marjolijn Christianen are my (co) Promotores

Motivation:
I aim to understand how global change drivers affect the functioning, biodiversity, and resilience of aquatic ecosystems, with a special focus on plankton communities.
