My PhD will investigate the interactions between fouling communities of offshore windfarms with the pelagic/planktonic communities, including how the benthos impacts the pelagic ecosystem, and how their functionality will change under future climatic scenarios.
Motivation:
I am a benthic ecologist with an interest in ecosystem functioning, ecosystem resilience, trophic interactions, and how ecosystems will respond in future climate scenarios. I have previously worked in both temperate and tropical marine ecosystems to investigate ecosystem level responses to local and global pressures.
Keywords:
Benthic-pelagic coupling, benthic ecology, trophic interactions, ecosystem functioning, ecosystem resilience, offshore wind
Methods:
Field sampling, laboratory experiments, scientific diving, functional trait analysis
Research Locations:
North Sea
