Welcome to SeaSnap – with this tool you can help monitor the condition of seagrass as a citizen scientist. Seagrass are marine plants that are incredibly threatened and are still under-appreciated globally. Your photo will help contribute to marine conservation with just a few taps of your phone. More information about seagrass can be found here.

Locations: Currently SeaSnap cradles are installed at two locations. On Derawan Island (Fisheries pier), and on Maratua Island (Jade homestay pier), both are located in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Follow these instructions if you have found such a cradle

Instructions

Take a photo: Place your phone into the cradle, with the camera facing down and take a photo (a regular photo, no zoom or wide angle)

Step 2 – Bagikan: Pindai kode QR untuk mengakses instruksi berbagi. Kirim foto Anda melalui email ke SeaSnap@wur.nl. Kirim foto ukuran penuh.

Share: Scan the QR code to access sharing instructions. AND/ OR Send your photo and location by email to SeaSnap@wur.nl. Send the full-size photo.

That’s it! Anda sekarang resmi menjadi ilmuwan warga. You are now officially a citizen scientist. Thank you for contributing to seagrass science!
