Methods

In our research we use state of the art methods and techniques. We were early adapters of drones for aerial landscape surveys and use biodegradable artificial root systems for coastal rewilding.

We are always keen to experiment with newly developed materials and appliances. However, since we often work remote, we also look for practical solutions that can be sources and applied locally, and these can also be found in conventional or traditional hands on methods.

Methods and techniques in our current studies

Large scale experiments on ecosystem functioning

Technology-enabled ecological monitoring: e.a. animal borne cameras GPS tracking, drones

Foodweb and trophic analysis

Biogeochemical and greenhouse gas measurements

Mesocosm and multistressor experiments

Spatial and long-term modeling
