Wrapping up three productive fieldwork weeks in Eleuthera, The Bahamas. During this time, we kicked off Delphine Carroll ‘s MSc. project on seagrass-turtle-shark interactions and established a fruitful collaboration with Nicholas Higgs and the incredible team at the Cape Eleuthera Institute.

Our activities included deploying satellite tags and video cameras on green turtles and sharks, and the initial results are highly promising. As we wrap up this phase, our next focus will be further exploring seagrass dynamics. Nicole Esteban and I are leaving behind a fully trained master’s student to continue the study with great support of Niek Van Der Knaap. More updates soon.
Shark tagging wasn’t possible without the incredibly knowledgeable team of CEI Natascha Wosnick, Ph.D.; Amy Brooks; George Smith; Will Philbin-Cross; and support from Julius Rankin
